318270 at Johnstone on a bitterly cold morning on 28th December 2009. The unit had rolled to a halt after an almighty bang and what looked like an explosion from under the pantograph, which I can only assume was caused by severe arcing. Out came a rather worried driver thinking he had lost all power, but 5 minutes later things were back to normal and the train was on it's way with a service to Ayr. The gentlemen on the right are about to take the train south for a day on the golf course. Rather them than me!
