Crossing from New Holland to Hull on PS Lincoln Castle on 14 December 1974. Launched at the Pointhouse yard of A&J Inglis on the Clyde in 1940 and operated by the LNER (and latterly BR) the Lincoln Castle was eventually withdrawn from service in 1978. The ferry service between New Holland and Hull ceased in 1981 on the opening of the Humber bridge.
