West Kilbride
The other Kilbride seen here on 3 June. West Kilbride has little in
common with East Kilbride which is some way off and in a different
county. WK once bigger than EK but times have changed. The station
building here is now a smart restaurant called Chu Chus and bistro-style soft jazz was drifting onto the warm platform until it was mercifully drowned out by this train of coal empties heading away from me north to Hunterston. Although the platform line is bi-directional the unelectrified line is the Up Freight only.
