Ferry Road

Course of the CR's Leith New Line (1903 to 1968) as it passed under Ferry Road, looking north on 12 July 2010. For a view the other way in 1963 see image 28071. The former cutting from Newhaven Junction to the old Chancelot Mill has been substantially filled in, but there's a dip here to allow the walkway to go under Ferry Road. Platforms were built here (as elsewhere on the line) for a station which never opened, the line remaining goods only. If you can see a council van coming towards me, it's more than I did.
