The course of the CR's Leith New Lines under Craighall Road, Newhaven, looking towards Newhaven Junction. Platforms were built here for a station. They are presumably still there, under the earth bulldozed into the cutting after the line closed in 1968. Like the two other would-be stations on this line they were never opened and the line saw no regular passengers in its 65-year life. The (then) existing CR Newhaven station was just a little along Craighall Road: too close to be a separate station, yet too far apart, with no connection but the road, to be the same one. I wonder what their intention was on this?
