Coldstream
Scene east of Coldstream in 1969 showing D3638 with a contractor's train. Much of the tracklifting and recovery work on this line was undertaken by private organisations on behalf of BR see image 26733. The locomotive in question here, BR Class 10 no D3638, had previously been withdrawn but was subsequently reinstated and leased out to the firm concerned for this specific purpose.
