Grizedale Reservoir

Close up of the narrow gauge rails that were possibly laid as a maintenance track and, long disused, are normally under the water in Grizedale reservoir but have been on show through the summer droughts. There are no quarries nearby and it may be that they were used to transport dam construction materials up the Grizedale valley around 1866. Can anyone confirm this?
