Penwortham
Immediately south of the River Ribble tram bridge See image 29701 the old Lancaster Canal Tramroad enters these woods and runs for around three quarters of a mile almost dead straight. It is a popular traffic free route into Preston and has survived the 150 years or so since closure remarkably well. View south at SD 542287.
