One of the small arrivals boards dotted around Waverley station seen on 29 September 2010. Ten arrivals are due in twenty minutes. There's nothing exceptional in that, but what is noteworthy is that one of the arrivals is from Edinburgh Waverley. Not only that, but it's 'running' four minutes late. Quite an achievement. The two arrivals from Newcraighall in two minutes must also puzzle. Once you know that Newcraighall is a terminus and yet the trains have come from opposite directions bafflement can only mount. It's no wonder the layman finds the Fife Circle workings through to Newcraighall confusing. Penny dropping?
