Edinburgh Waverley
The east end of Waverley seen from the Calton Road footbridge on 19 July 2016. Standing at platform 1 is the 1102 ex-Perth which has recently terminated here. Until the mid 1980s this corner of the station was dominated by the Royal Mail, with an overhead conveyor system from the GPO sorting office on the corner of North Bridge and Waterloo Place linking into the distribution centre that stood on the other side of platform 2. During that period the area in the foreground was invariably occupied by Royal Mail vans see image 6021.
