A TGV unit crosses the attractive Antheor viaduct on the line between Toulon & Cannes. On two occasions in late 1943 and again in early 1944 the viaduct attracted the attention of the Lancasters of 617(Dambusters) and 619 Squadrons in an attempt to sever the strategic route between southern France and Italy. Little damage was caused to the railway whilst one aircraft was lost and two airmen were killed by defending gunfire.
