Earlestown

The world's first railway junction is the claim made on behalf of this spot at Earlestown where, in 1831, the Warrington and Newton Railway met the one year old Liverpool and Manchester line. Northern 156488, heading for Warrington Bank Quay, has just left the L&M and is running into the surviving Warrington and Newton platform. View towards Huyton and Liverpool from the surviving section of the station footbridge. See image 25335
