Lochgreen Junction

A DMU on the Troon avoiding line approaching Lochgreen Junction on what appears to be an ECS working if the 'C' headcode is to be believed (there were few passenger trains that used the line avoiding Troon station). The photographer is standing on the overbridge that still exists, with the Lochgreen municipal golf course off to the right. Lochgreen Junction's up main starting signal lattice post can be seen behind the double framed telegraph pole. The nomenclature of the lines in the days that this photo appears to have been taken (around 1959/60) was the avoiding lines were the 'main lines' and the lines via Troon passenger station the 'branch lines'.
