A 4-car 158 set approaches Markinch with an Inverness to Edinburgh
service on 19 March. The rear of the train is passing the crossover
once used for reversing by the hourly terminating service from
Edinburgh. It doesn't see much use since the service pattern changed and Markinch lost its terminating trains, though there are more through services. Note the HST car stop sign way off the end of the platform. Markinch has had an HST service (by Virgin) though three other Fife stations with the 'stranded H' never have.
