Stainton Junction
On Christmas Eve 1968 the 1S22 09.50 St Pancras - Edinburgh Waverley is photographed heading north shortly after departing from Carlisle behind the usual 'Peak' type 4 locomotive. The train is seen at Stainton Crossing as the light starts to fade.
