Chicago and North Western Terminal

View northwest from the Willis Tower showing what is now the Ogilvie Transportation Center, which replaced the former Chicago & North Western Railroad's Chicago and North Western Terminal, built in 1911.  The new station was opened in 1987 and renamed the Ogilvie Transportation Center 10 years later.  It is used by the Metra commuter rail system's Union Pacific West, North and Northwest routes. The tracks further to the right adjacent to the Chicago River are the tracks leading north from Union Station in the direction of Milwaukee and are used by Amtrak and Metra's Milwaukee District North and West and North Central Service routes.
