Portsmouth (Lancashire)
Castle over Copy Pit. GWR 4-6-0 5043 Earl of Mount Edgcumbe storms through the site of Portsmouth station (closed 1958) on 16 April 2011 as it nears Copy Pit summit with The Red Rose railtour from Birmingham. Lancashire was hardly a haunt of the GWR Castles in steam days but less than a week after this picture was taken a second member of the class (5029) was on the main line in the county. See image 33749.
