The ubiquitous yellow Bedford lorry (on hire from NCL) at Inverness Freight Depot in winter 1977. The rail vans have brought sacks of flour from the private siding of a Leith flour mill, for road delivery to Burnett's bakery in Inverness. All the sacks were individually 'hand-balled' from rail to road - tiring and dusty work, as the photographer's son can testify from his 1974-75 stint as a 'Railman' in Inverness.
