Hexham

45562 Alberta about to leave Hexham on 3 June 1967 with the returning LCGB 'Thames - Tyne Limited'. The Jubilee will take the special as far as Newcastle Central where 4472 Flying Scotsman will take over for the return to London. The distinctive old signal gantry at the east end of Hexham station which appears in many photographs from the steam era has since been replaced by CLS see image 29918.
