The modern structures at Old Roan near Aintree. Like many Merseyrail stations it is a bit non-descript at platform level but worth a second look from the street. This view was taken from the bus area of the Old Roan interchange and looks towards the booking office. It also shows the lift for the Ormskirk platform and the subway to the Liverpool platform, which also has a similar glass lift tower. Old Roan station opened in 1935 to serve housing developments to the north of Aintree.
