Deepdale Junction
Nearly twenty years after the final coal train, one of the rails on the surviving track at Deepdale Junction can be seen in this September 2011 view from the Skeffington Road level crossing looking towards Preston. Just ahead the line splits going either side of the building in the centre of the picture. The left hand line ran over Deepdale Mill Street level crossing and into the old Preston and Longridge terminus, later the Coal Concentration Depot, while the line to the right ran through Deepdale Station, the Miley Tunnel and joined the WCML to the north of Preston station.
