Grenoble
On a fine September evening, a TGV prepares to depart from Grenoble with a service to Paris, Gare de Lyon. The 300 mile journey will take 3 hours and six minutes including a stop at Lyon. A regional train waits on the platform to the left; a tram arrives behind the platform to the right, while the bus station stands behind the TGV. The 1960s SNCF structure is the subject of ambitious redevelopment plans to provide Grenoble with an improved intermodal transport hub for the 21st century.
