The daily Far North freight from wick and Thurso to Inverness powers through Invergordon in the summer of 1973. The Invergordon Harbour branch (for coal traffic) trails off to the right. The photographer (a temporary BR employee during student holidays) had no head for heights, but managed to steel himself to climb a signal gantry to get the best possible view.
