Barnsley Junction

76010 and 76016 make up their train at Penistone (Barnsley
Junction) prior to forming the final 16:30 departure to Godley
Junction on Friday 17th July 1981. The loaded MGR coal wagons had come off the Barnsley line behind 45001 (probably in two trips) and would finish their journey to Fiddlers Ferry PS behind LMR diesel power. This may not have been the pair's last foray through the Pennines as the Woodhead Line didn't actually close until the end of the night shift the following morning.
