Pinhao
The whistling English Electric exhaust of the CP1400 (EE Type 1) echoes off the steep hillsides and the houses close to the line as it accelerates its three coaches away from Pinhao station. The train is just crossing a tributary of the River Douro on its way down to Porto. Later in the year the hillside terraces will be covered in vines in this Port producing region.
