Wortley Junction

Black 5 No. 5305 accelerates the HLPG special away from Wortley Junction in the direction of Harrogate on 30 April 1977. Although reporting numbers were no longer displayed on locomotives by 1977, 1G01 appears in the leading window of the first coach - no doubt still useful for identifying the correct rake of vehicles in the carriage sidings although it seems unlikely that there would be many other specials arriving at Scarborough on the same day so early in the season.
