Dalkeith

Shortly after leaving Dalkeith terminus trains passed below this bridge carrying Cemetery Road. The partially infilled cutting and sealed underbridge area (part of a hand car washing operation at this time) are seen here looking west in 2013. The A6094 Eskbank Road runs past on the left, with the old bridge providing a pedestrian link to Dalkeith Cemetery and Ironmills Park. The trackbed beyond the bridge is now a walkway leading to Glenesk Junction, where the Dalkeith branch once joined the Waverley Route.
