Surgeres St Gilles
CFD Reseau Charente Ligne Marans - St Jean d'Angely. Surgeres St Gilles Station looking south east in July 2012. Much of the trackbed of the former metre gauge line from Surgeres, the mid point on the line, towards St Jean d'Angely now forms minor roads or farm tracks. However, the first section from the current SNCF station at Surgeres east to the town boundary is now the route of the town's northern ring road. Around half way along the ring road in the direction of St Mard and St Jean, is the former St Gilles station, complete with 'cabinet' and well.
