Balgreen [Tram]
The new tram bridge over Balgreen Road, Edinburgh, photographed looking south east on 23 September 2012. Beyond is the railway bridge carrying the E&G main line. Balgreen tram stop will be located off to the right on the site once occupied by Balgreen Halt, near the junction of the E&G and the former Corstorphine branch. Note how the road dips to pass below the rail bridge. In the case of the new tram bridge it was a choice between lowering the road or crossing at a higher level in order to obtain the desired clearance (see image 48061).
