A4 Pacific no 60009 Union of South Africa should have been in full flow as it passed through Leyland on 18 August 2012 with the returning 'Cumbrian Mountain Express'. This was not to be as No.9 was slowed to allow a Manchester to Blackpool service to cross in front of it at Euxton Junction.
