A London-bound HST accelerates away wrong line from a signal stop at Bathampton Junction on 9 February. Despite the adjacent road traffic, the HST exhaust could be heard all the way from the stop, 2.5 miles away! The line of hills in the background appears to be that which separates the Bath-Southampton line from the trackbed of the late-lamented Somerset and Dorset Railway.
