The down centre road at York sees the unusual sight of double-headed class 47s arriving on an excursion (1Z17) on 4 July 1976. It is unlikely that both locos were under power because 47199, the leading loco, worked the train forward on its own, having removed 47145, which in all probability had failed earlier.
