Three items of interest in this view of Seascale's southbound platform. The old Furness Railway water tower is a prominent local landmark. To its right is the old goods shed, which is now the town's Sports Centre. On the platform itself is a Harrington Hump which provides level access to trains. These were pioneered at the station of the same name, just north of Whitehaven, and provide a cost effective alternative to raising low platforms along their full length. They are appearing at various Cumbrian Coast stations and elsewhere in the UK.
