View north from the lay-by at Falahill on 30 July 2013 with the Waverley trackbed on the far right and the A7 running across the picture. Falahill cottages are hidden by the trees. Work planned here is currently described on the Transport Scotland website as follows... The proposed development involves reinstating the Borders Railway .... and realigning the A7 to the east of Falahill cottages. The realigned road will cross the railway using a simple bridge structure. (Update - an alternate planning proposal is now under consideration which would see the A7 staying close to its present course - with a bridge structure way beyond simple - August 2013).
