Carlisle Kingmoor Shed
Unique amongst the 842 Black 5s built was no 44767, seen here at Kingmoor in December 1966. The locomotive left Crewe works on 31 December 1947, last day of the LMS, fitted with Stephenson valve gear (amongst a number of other features). Withdrawn at the end of 1967 it has been preserved and now carries the name George Stephenson. See image 29266. Site of Etterby Junction Signal Box behind?
