Hythe Pier
The Hythe Pier train sets off on yet another trip to the pier head to meet the ferry from Southampton. The ancient electric loco is always at the landward end and so, when propelling, is controlled from the leading coach. In the background, across the busy Solent, the huge Asian Vision car carrier is being loaded with Range Rovers for export to the Far East.
