Disbelief plus annoyance is the reaction of some bleary-eyed arrivals at Dunblane on the morning of Sunday 9th March 2014. At close of business the night before, there had been two footbridges linking the platforms, but by dawn, only one remained, and that did not allow exit on the west side of the station. Some were faced with a long walk around... Removal of the council owned footbridge pending construction of a new version with lifts by Network Rail temporarily revealed the southern aspect of the original Victorian footbridge for the first time since the early 1970s.
