Knodishall

Scene at Clay Hills level crossing, Knodishall, on the Saxmundham-Aldeburgh branch on 1st November 1980. The RCTS railtour is returning from a visit to Leiston, and one of the crew is approaching to operate the gates. The train will soon reach the junction with the main line. Following closure to passengers in 1966, the line was retained to just beyond Leiston for Sizewell nuclear flask traffic. [Ref query 9825]
