Looking north along the trackbed at the site of Broomhouse station (closed 1927) in November 2014 towards the point where it crossed the Rutherglen and Coatbridge line at Mount Vernon (South). The line closed completely in the 1960s. The recently installed OHLE on the current Whifflet line is visible above the buildings on the left. Little trace of the former railway from Shettleston to Hamilton remains and now Broomhouse station site is being excavated for a new road alignment.
