Sandy Bank Signal Box
The remains of lonely and isolated Sandy Bank signal cabin on the old NER ( SDLUR) route from Tebay to Kirkby Stephen and Barnard Castle in June 2015. Sited approx 1 mile east of Ravenstonedale and at the summit of the Tebay/Kirkby Stephen section ( Altitude 890 ft). The cabin closed in 1931 when the double track section was cut back to Ravenstonedale. Final closure of the line came in 1962.
