Farnworth Tunnel
The shape of things to come at the south end of the Farnworth tunnels on 17 July 2015. A Preston to Hazel Grove service slowly exits the down tunnel which is currently be used in both directions, with the up tunnel sealed for filling with foam concrete. The shape of the new tunnel that will be bored can be seen disappearing behind the silo on the right.
