Leven Shipyard
Two views on Castle Road in Dumbarton in August 2015. The first looks east into the old Allied Distillers yard, still awaiting redevelopment. Prior to use by Allied this site was a Blackburn aircraft factory and produced Sunderland flying boats during WWII. The second looks west at the same spot where new housing has been built across the old line into William Denny's Leven shipyard, but the tracks across the road are still very evident. [My thanks to John McIntyre for additional information on this location.] [Postscript - on a further visit in August 2017 the tracks had been covered with a patch of tarmac and housing was being built on the Allied site]
