Solway Junction

Just east of Annan station 156435 takes to the single track as it heads for Carlisle. By modern (slightly peculiar) naming standards the train would be passing 'Annan Junction'. Behind the camera was Solway Junction, the point of divergence between the lines to Carlisle and the Solway Viaduct. The railway has since been re-doubled.
