London Road goods yard looking south in 2001. This was a three platform passenger terminus from 1879 to 1895 on the Caledonian's 1877 London Road branch from Rutherglen. The station was to the right and goods and mineral depot to the left. The site survived as a goods yard until closure in 1993 by which time it only catered to scrap - probably seeing its last traffic five years earlier. The site was redeveloped for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games of 2014. On the left is the Switchback line which continued north to serve the Parkhead Forge and the Blochairn Iron Works to Balornock.
