A March 1987 view west from the original Kincardine road bridge showing the town’s two former stations, the rail version in the foreground and the power variety in the background. At the time, this part of the line had fallen into disuse, but it became more active 10 years later for first coal and then rail engineering traffic after the power station had been closed down and demolished. From 2008 until 2016 it carried considerable coal traffic round the clock for the nearby Longannet power station after the line through Alloa reopened.
