Up to the 1980's at least, secondhand railway van bodies were all over the countryside, mostly in use as store sheds for farmers. I was quoted £250 to buy such a body in 1984. But there are a lot less old vans around these days; sometimes through arson, other times through roof failure leading to rot and structural collapse. This pig farmer has a good idea to keep his van neat: a custom-made corrugated iron roof. see image 47668
