Iron ore carrier 'Enterprise' at Hunterston Pier in 1989. This facility allowed import of iron ore and coal for the Ravenscraig Steelworks and replaced General Terminus in Glasgow. Since closure of the steelworks it has been used to import coal for power stations. The facility was built for the British Steel Corporation and was served by a new railway.
