Bamber Bridge
Bulleid Merchant Navy pacific 35018 'British India Line' is seen passing Bamber Bridge on 06 July 2017 whilst working a loaded test run from Carnforth to Carnforth via Hellifield, Blackburn and Preston. After a slow start see image 59898 it made good time after Hellifield. The loco's BR number was chalked on the smokebox door but the NR TOPS number (98818) has been applied in the correct font to the right hand cab side. What a pleasant sight to see a Southern pacific returning to the mainline 50 years after the end of steam on Southern Region. Credit to the restoration team at WCRC, Carnforth.
