Storlien

SJ X2000 waits in a siding for the return journey of about 750km to Stockholm. At an altitude of 592m (1942') Storlien is the highest station in Sweden. It serves a village which is a ski resort in the Jämtland mountains; the whole chain of mountains spanning the border between Norway and Sweden is known locally as the Caledonian range (for geological reasons only)
see http://sciencenordic.com/content/nameless-mountain-range
It is also the station closest to the border between Sweden and Norway on this line. Another border station in northern Sweden is Riksgränsen see image 60458 which is where Malmbanan (Swedish side) and Ofotbanen (Norwegian side) meet.
