The Budvari Siklo, or Castle Hill Funicular in Budapest, opened in 1870 and is the second oldest in the world. It was destroyed by bombing in WWII and only rebuilt in 1986 but is now a popular attraction. Two footbridges cross the tracks along the 312ft length, during which the standard gauge tracks rise 167ft. Photo by Mark Edwards
